Houston, TX (June 12, 2009) – Cook Compression announced that Jim Prendergast has joined the company as Vice President of Manufacturing.
As part of Cook Compression's continuing commitment to improve quality and efficiency at all of its production facilities, Prendergast leads the company's effort to develop and implement an enterprise-wide Lean Operating system. His responsibilities include employee training and awareness, systemic process improvement methods and procedures, and expansion of an overall Lean operating culture.
Prendergast reports to Don York, President of Cook Compression, and is based at the company's headquarters in The Woodlands, Texas. Prior to joining Cook Compression, Prendergast served in similar roles company-wide for Kohler Company and at a manufacturing facility for Delphi Corporation.
According to York, "Jim brings a wealth of experience and knowledge in manufacturing, with considerable expertise in Lean activities, process improvement and structured problem-solving programs. He will work closely with all Cook Compression general managers, assisting them in directing supply chain improvements, training programs, continuous improvement systems and operations strategies to enhance efficiencies.
